Latest Updates from Our Project:

Travel, Triumphs and Taverns
over 3 years ago – Wed, Dec 30, 2020 at 10:16:18 AM

Thank you all so much for supporting and below you will see the outline of the update:

We like to provide little outlines to every update to help you see what is in the update. Your time is important, and we do not want to waste it, if not needed!

The Marvelous Menu Decks is a collection of 4 decks for a GM to create a quick menu selection for their players.

Each deck consists of 50 illustrated cards and fully detailed cards that are tailor-made for the moments when adventures find their stomach growling.

This creation will allow you when combined with the four decks in the series to instantly create 2 fantastic menu options for players. The options are detailed with the dish’s details, cost, serving size, flavor, and potential side effects from consuming too much of or even the food itself.

His skin has the orange/tan glow of too much sun. He is renowned for his bright brown suits and hats with a flair of color. His reddish-brown hair is styled in orderly dreadlocks. His eyes are hazel and beady. He takes his job very seriously, in part because he fears without his tavern, he would not have much walk-in life. He will often invite strangers with no money into his tavern for dinner and talk their ears off.

He cares deeply for his workers and does his best to make sure his guests are taken care of. He was raised in a mountain dwarf clan. His arcane abilities were realized during a raid on his village. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books and has made it his duty. After many years in service to his clan, he bought a tavern and magically enchanted it to travel the realms.

Tara's Tavern is a large inn and tavern that looks extremely tiny from the outside. Yet, the magic of the tavern expanded to make the tavern more accommodating. When traveling it is enclosed within a magical barrier of sorts that forms a nice courtyard. This allows the tavern to be hard found and to make it easily defensible against highwaymen, bandits, and roustabouts.

  • It is a three-story structure made from local wood of the crossroads, with shuttered windows and a balcony overlooking the courtyard. Stables and a small smithy are located southwest of the inn proper. Above the stables is a low-ceilinged hayloft. Next to the inn is a yard, where wood for the numerous stoves is kept and cut; this area is also a training ground for those wishing to practice their trade. Around the stables, there are small pins that include hen houses and a small pen for the pigs.
  • The Tavern is quite large, brightly lit, and extremely clean. The ceiling is unusually high, and the amount of wood that Tarv must go through would be immense. The dining hall has several large tables, fit for up to six people each. Off to the side is a standard staircase, which you would assume leads up to the lodgings and the other two floors above. A collection of knickknacks hangs above the bar. Behind the counter is who you would assume to be the bartender, who is currently scratching his nose. You walk up to the bar and strike up a conversation with the smiling dwarf, who introduces himself as Tarv Longale.

The maps we bring into our books are always of the highest caliber. These full colors professionally illustrate really demonstrate the talent of amazing artists and content creators that we hire.

Maps are such an essential part of tabletop games/role-playing games that to have a book without at least one beautiful map is hard to perceive.

The meaning behind this pin collection, which is the second time trying to offer enamel pins, is to show your pride for both those who travel the fantasy realms as well as the real world. These are exclusives for this project, and they will never be offered again, so once the minimum number we need to order to fulfill the Kickstarter, then they are gone forever. If we reach 1100 total backers in the next 24 hours then every physical backer will receive these 4 enamel pins at no extra cost.

We are really trying to give reasons for supporters to share, but also give back when we are successful! We love enamel pins, and we think you should as well, so do not miss out on your chance to get these pins!

Projects we love!

As you know in an effort to bring more attention to the project, we sometimes share campaigns of our friends and of projects that we want to share with you. This helps us find backers that might not have heard of us yet and reward backers from the beginning with the unlocking of more stretch goals!

A Packet of Particular Peaks

 CHECK THEM OUT HERE!

Old school inspired, system-neutral, fantasy mountain settings featuring a “drop-in-drop-out” experience.

This is a go-to reference for a system-neutral, old school inspired fantasy setting that aims to provide a “drop-in-and-drop-out” experience. You can run a small side quest within the peaks, provide a parallel campaign to your normal adventures, or simply pull from this packet for game-able material in your role-playing game sessions. Contained in this packet you’ll find three particular peaks featuring dream-like locations, strange inhabitants, unique overland features, an extensive bestiary, and much more.

Let's finish strong!

Final Days
over 3 years ago – Mon, Dec 28, 2020 at 10:05:40 PM

We have unlocked our 3rd official stretch goal! We are also moving stretch goal 7 to stretch goal 5. I agreed with a backer of our project and I feel this will bring more to your tabletop games. Mostly because a few guards are included in the caravan NPC's. I would rather you have much diversity in the material included! So share so we can add centaur herds to the books!

Once again, I just want to say thank you to every single one of you! I am so happy with how this Kickstarter has come together, and I know you all will love it all! I am not sure how some companies run projects of this detail, but we love to create and help make your worlds that much better. We love getting to see a product start and see the finish! I know you are all just as excited but when you create something and see it go from scratch paper, to word document, to Kickstarter, to editing, to layout, to playtesting/proofreading, and then to an actual book. The feeling of seeing that final product is amazing! You are all doing that, and from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you! Seriously, if you ever see me at a convention please come say hi! I would love to personally say hello and world permitting shake your hand or give you a hug.

As a thank you to every backer, we will be delivering free digital D10 lists that fit perfectly into both books in the Voyages of the Vagabond Kickstarter. This is an amazing quick generator or reference for GMs because they quickly get random information from this d10 list by simply rolling a d10. Your job is hard enough and with these free lists, we hope to make it that much better.

Lore Within Lore
over 3 years ago – Thu, Dec 24, 2020 at 08:38:36 PM

Thank you all so much for supporting and below you will see the outline of the update:

We like to provide little outlines to every update to help you see what is in the update. Your time is important, and we do not want to waste it, if not needed!

Myths - a traditional story, especially one concerning the early history of a people or explaining some natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings or events.

  •  Example: A book about dragons and giants having constant wars, a book about elven myths saying that the elves were made by clouds, gold, and silver with divine magic placed into them, or an of a Lich who captures travelers and uses them to breed his own underground country to worship him.

Legends - a traditional story sometimes popularly regarded as historical but unauthenticated.

  •  Example: A book about a Rogue who stole a kingdom, and marries into Royalty, a book that speaks of a minotaur that lives in the sewers of a great city, or a or a book of a druid once respected by the high elves until he went mad and led an army of rats to plague elven kind.

As you all may or may not be aware, art is expensive but there are two types of people. Those who retain lots of information by reading it and those who are more visually inspired. So, we decide to include both a large amount of art and an extensive amount of information to be used for world-building and your homebrew games.

All content for the books of the Voyages of the Vagabond has been drafted and the illustrations are started and ongoing. From the get-go, we pledged that this book must be visually stunning. We want the images to be amazing, but we still need your help with sharing, talking about, and getting people to help support!

I hope everyone has a happy holidays! Be safe and enjoy every bit that you can!

Magical & Mechanical
over 3 years ago – Tue, Dec 22, 2020 at 05:01:33 AM

Thank you all so much for supporting and below you will see the outline of the update:

We like to provide little outlines to every update to help you see what is in the update. Your time is important, and we do not want to waste it, if not needed!

The Lift Mod-155e is a working mount produced by the Tinker Gnomes who dwell around the city of Crossroads. This machine was first envisioned by Tikin Wigglespindle. Obviously, this construct is not made in the wilds but despite that, I would like to discuss the process that goes on day to day with this machine.

  • The Tinker Gnomes are ingenious in so many ways that often tasks that leave most of the races baffled with how to solve. The tinker gnomes can overcome their size by creating massive machines that are simply filled with liquid fuel to keep them working. The main avenues and warehouses are filled with these machines that can lift, carry, rotate, and transport hundreds of pounds of materials every day. The right storage, organization, and transport of products within their facilities are critical to the effectiveness of this race’s survival. If it were not for these inventions and other advanced technological devices, then this race would not have been allowed to truly grow at the rate they have thus far.
  • The mounts are truly under the control of those who operate them. While many gnomes who learn to operate these machines go under extensive training, not all who purchase them decide to take on the training required to be able to operate them effectively. A few of these machines are destroyed every year by ignorant or inexperienced operators. Even more, have lost lives to the same types of operators by the operator being over comfortable with the operation and decide to not pay attention to those around them.

With the high level of magic found in many fantasy RPG campaigns, enchanted vehicles designed to soar through the air are not beyond the realm of possibility. After all, what use are cloud kingdoms, sky realms, and other areas high above the earth if adventurers have no means of traveling to them? Magic such as fly and similar spells are too limited to make travel simple for characters. Furthermore, without some form of reliable transportation, the sky kingdoms would lack the ability to carry on any meaningful trade or migrations. Thus, skyships represent the most common method for non-flying creatures to take to the air.

The Lift Mod-155e is a working mount produced by the Tinker Gnomes who dwell around the city of Crossroads. This machine was first envisioned by Tikin Wigglespindle. The gnomish people are obviously a small race in the physical department but truly they have some of the biggest of dreams.

The Lift Mod-155e is a multi-directional mechanical device that eliminates the need for large gnomish work parties. This working mount can make easy right-angle turns, that allow for the Tinker Gnomes to truly pack their warehouses to the brim by reducing the aisle width needed for long load handling and bulky loads. This beautiful machine features a unique four-directional travel mode that enables outstanding maneuverability and efficiency and results in less work despite the occasionally smashed gnome.

Living By Plunder

Thank you all so much for supporting and below you will see the outline of the update:

  •  Recruitment - Those rejected from society always seek someone to understand them. For young mages without their community’s support, this group gives that understanding. Arcane inclined youth may not have the same means to get the education needed to excel as those in wealthier castes. This can also lead them to join the Enigmas, so that they may steal the knowledge they seek.
  •  Requirements - One must be capable of using the magic of first level or higher. An excessive number of those with fiendish blood and elves join the organization. This is due to the innate spellcasting of these races. Hunger for arcane knowledge is almost always a characteristic of the Enigma members. A willingness to go to any lengths to get it is a great addition. All these mages have a sense of deserving more than their circumstances have given them.
  •  Orientation - Would-be Enigma members must be interviewed by the designated evaluator. The current evaluator is L’llael Thefarliza, ascribe with a penchant for the theatrical. L’lleal conducts an interview with the recruit. He uses divination magic to glean the truth and push beyond the surface of answers. After this conversation, he takes stock of the recruit’s magical abilities. This is mostly to place the recruit with a suitable mentor.

I hope you enjoyed this quick look into the nomad clan known as The Fire Enigmas.

I’ve probably have not been a GM as long as some of you grandmasters, and I am honored to have experienced GM's on this project. Yet I do enjoy being the game master, building new characters, creating new story arcs, but my real passion is world-building. Sometimes it is just nice to have a fresh idea or something to get the mind turning. Here are a few suggestions that I suggest for making interesting encounters:

  • A fresh set of clothes - I think a lot of gamemasters try to reinvent the wheel, and that can take a lot of brainpower. You can simply take a creature that is common, and make it a bit more fantastic. You can take a rug of smothering and give it a detailed description. Then instead of calling it a rug, there is no reason it could not be a blanket, a canopy, or even a scarf a character just purchased. The stats could be changed if you wish, or leave them the same and focus on weaving the story.
  • The Monstrous Baddie - You do not always have to have an aberration or monstrosity type of creature to be the world ending boss. It is just as good to take little red robin hood, who uses a beast-like wolf creature to do her bidding. Then when the players come to kill the wolf, it turns out she might be a sorceress from an immortal bloodline or even a warlock with a fey patron. This might be a little simple, but the idea is always fun.
  • The Z - Encounters that add height as an element can really change things. We all smile when the barbarian cannot do a thing about the dragon flying 60 feet about the party. It is simple but it is effective!

Projects we love!
Asunder is a dark tabletop RPG set in a world without metal where plants and insects have been transformed into living weapons and machines. Created by Adam Lawson, director of Wil Wheaton's TableTop, Spellslingers, Sagas of Sundry, and Escape the Night. It uses the Shadow of the Demon Lord game system created by Rob Schwalb.

In Asunder, the divine Essence inside humans bonded with elements of their world, allowing them to reshape plants and insects into living weapons, command beasts, grow multiple limbs, defy gravity and wield Chaos. If you have the time, then please go check them out  HERE!

Keep on sharing everyone! Thank you all and I hope you are enjoying the updates!
